The Ultimate List of Mailing Lists For Your Israeli Job Search
The Ultimate List of Mailing Lists For Your Israeli Job Search 4 This guide will save you precious time by pointing you to the most useful mailing lists for your job search in Israel. Read This First This article covers email discussion lists, newsletters and alerts. See The JobMob Guide to Israeli Yahoo! Groups and The JobMob Ultimate Collection of Israeli RSS feeds if you already receive too much email. In that case, you should See How Easily You Can Beat Job Search Email Overload before continuing. Subscriptions are free except where mentioned otherwise. Subscribe To These Lists Now Digital Eve Israel, formerly the Dei-discuss list, now a Yahoo group â" originally intended for women in hitech (but not exclusively), this English list often mentions job opportunities. Very active, if you subscribe in digest format you may still receive up to 2-3 digests per day. Jacob Richman's Computer Jobs in Israel (CJI) mailing list â" this English, bi-weekly, hitech-oriented list of jobs is the granddaddy of them all, created in 1994. It was already featured on JobMob when the CJI 2007 salary survey results were announced. The Leavi Foundation's Jobs Newsletter â" a monthly list of jobs sent out in an attached Word file. Mostly in French but there are usually some openings â" often many â" in English too. To subscribe, email info [at] leavi.com and ask to be added to the subscribers' list. Israemploy â" now one of the more famous English jobsites in Israel, Israemploy allows you to generate a daily email alert whenever a search of their jobs database has (new) results for your criteria. Available to all freely-registered users, only paid members will get immediate access to jobs' contact information. Non-paid members can see contact information for openings that are at least 1 week old. AllJobs â" like Israemploy, AllJobs allows you to generate daily alerts based on searches of its database and limits the contact information to paid members only. Although the site is strictly in Hebrew, there are sometimes job listings in English too. You Might Also Like These Lists Tachlis â" This English discussion list is aimed at former and new immigrants or olim. As such, most of the messages are about aliya issues, of which arguably the most important is finding work. If you subscribe, choose the daily digest. Jobneton â" Jobnet.co.il, one of Israel's best-known jobsites in English or Hebrew, proposes this personalized newsletter to be delivered every Thursday with âselected job listingsâ¦statisticsâ¦articlesâ¦â. Unfortunately, the email itself simply contains a link to a page on Jobnet containing at least some of the aforementioned information. However, the Jobnet database results are actually pretty good as long as you're prepared to click through every week. AllJobs Magazine â" AllJobs.co.il proposes this Hebrew newsletter that also appears whenever AllJobs feel like sending it. More complete than the Jobneton, the mailing usually has some random job listings but more useful are the 2-3 links to advice on Israeli jobhunting. Ringtech â" this English/Hebrew site proposes a newsletter of hitech job openings. The emails arrive rarely and randomly, and won't overwhelm you. The e-learning list â" this low activity English list of open positions is very narrowly targeted to the hitech field of machine learning. If that's your field, signup now. If You Have Protekzia Bar Ilan University International MBA Alumni â" if you can convince the list coordinator that you deserve to be on the list mailed out from MBA_JOBOPPTYS [at] listserv.biu.ac.il, many interesting opportunities pass through there. Technion Graduate â" Haifa's Technion has a very developed alumni program including a jobs list. If you missed attending the school, you can still act like a graduate and try to subscribe to bogrim [at] tx.technion.ac.il. Avoid These Lists Jobby Newsletter â" Jobby.co.il tries to lure you into subscribing to a Hebrew job alerts newsletter. Don't fall for it. The emails are missing any useful information and require you to click through to the Jobby.co.il homepage. Jobby is still showing too many signs of a spammer jobsite, so keep away. Jobnews.co.il â" they claim to have tens of thousands of jobs in their database but you can expect no jobs and spam if you subscribe to their free newsletter. Chermon HR â" this site claims to have a newsletter of jobs openings. I've been a subscriber for quite some time, and I still haven't received anything from them. Drushim.co.il â" like AllJobs, this Hebrew site claims to send you daily alerts with job openings. Unlike AllJobs, the subscription confirmation email is the last one you'll ever receive from them. Jobiq.co.il â" yet another Hebrew jobsite claiming to have a newsletter. Yet another Hebrew jobsite resembling a spammer jobsite. Need I say more? The Beit Shemesh list â" an extremely active English discussion list for citizens of Beit Shemesh, job opportunities occasionally appear among the many posts, so many they'll quickly overload your inbox. You'll also see job openings in other community discussion lists such as the Modiin list â" not just local jobs either â" but unless you're careful, you'll waste a huge amount of time scanning the numerous mailings for few jobs. Did I miss anything? Perhaps in Arabic, Russian or another language? If so, please contact me.eval Get everything on the list?

Why #NuCulture ProBiotics Should Be A Part of Your Diet Plan
Why #NuCulture ProBiotics Should Be A Part of Your Diet Plan I have long been an advocate of healthy living and eating. Of course, like everyone else Ive had times that required a trip to the doctor to handle more serious issues. A few times, the doctor prescribed antibiotics to ward off infections, and that was how I became familiar with probiotics. When antibiotics are used to treat infections, they usually do their job quite well. Theyre designed to attack the bad germs that are causing problems. But our body is full of bacteria that are friendly and actually essential to good health. So the result is that antibiotics do their job so well that good bacteria are killed off in addition to the bad ones. This is where probiotics come into the picture. Probiotics re-introduce good bacteria in massive quantities, as in billions, to help replenish the roughly 1,000 different kinds of good bacteria that exist in our digestive tracts. After a bout of antibiotics, thats essential to proper digestion and nutrient absorption. But probiotics actually do a lot more than that. And like pretty much anything, there are differing qualities of probiotics. There are four things in particular to consider when selecting a good probiotic. These are: The probiotic varieties (strains) that are included in the formulary Be wary of bargain probiotic brands that include untested strains or only tout the quantity of bacteria. More important is the the number of different strains of bacteria it includes. How the product is prepared, packaged, and delivered Bacterial are living organisms. So if the product has sat on the shelf, unprotected from heat and light, its going to be full of dead bacteria, which do no good. A quality delivery system will include a heavy glass bottle that limits light and quick delivery time from manufacture to consumer. Manufacture dates Again, probiotics are alive. If the bottle doesnt contain a date of manufacture, be wary. How will you know how long its been on the shelf? While these dates are not required by the FDA, they will be present on quality products. Reputation and product support of the manufacturer Many supplements, vitamins, and unregulated products have no manufacturer guaranty. While this is not a guaranty as to effectiveness, which is prohibited by the FDA, its an indication of how much the company is willing to stand behind its product. What Else Do Probiotics Do? Now you know what to look for in a probiotic product and the most common reason theyre used. But are there more positive reasons? The answer is yes! Heres some of the possible benefits, summarized from Food Matters: Urinary Health Probiotics make a good compliment to antibiotics among people who suffer from urinary tract infections, according to the research. Infections of the urinary tract are extremely common, especially in women. Most infections disappear with antibiotics, but about 30 to 40 percent might return, according to literature from the University of Maryland Medical Center. Allergies Allergy research is still preliminary, but at least one large, high quality study found a relationship between women taking probiotics during pregnancy and a 30 percent reduction in the instance of childhood eczema (an early sign of allergies) in their infants. Womens Health Probiotics may also have a special role in maternal health, as pregnant women are particularly susceptible to vaginal infections. And bacterial vaginosis has been indicated as a contributing factor to pre-term labor, making probiotics a potential boon for fetal health. Immunity Up to fifty percent of our immune system is directly related to the good bacteria in the gut. Keeping up the quantity and balance of those bacteria can support and contribute to a healthy immune system. Obesity Some preliminary research shows that probiotics can help obese people who have received weight loss surgery to maintain weight loss. And in a study of post-partum women who were trying to lose abdomnial fat, the addition of lactobacillusand bifidobacterium capsules helped reduce waist circumference. Its still unclear how probiotics play a role in weight loss and there is some controversy about how significant the probiotics-associated weight loss is. But as long as the probiotics source is low-calorie and healthful, itself, it is an innocuous method to attempt. My Preferred Choice For Probiotics Having had the experience of selecting and using probiotics for quite a few years, I have a good feel for what to look for in a quality product. I was recently offered the opportunity to try Alternascript NuCulture, which meets all my above criteria. I looked at the product literature, read their research background, and compared it to others Id used before. On all counts, NuCulture impressed me as one of the best out there. NuCulture, along with all AlternaScript products, can only be purchased through a subscription through the AlternaScript website. They do also offer free trials of their products. This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and AlternaScript. 7 Tips to Renovate Your Home Office Before Spring
7 Tips to Renovate Your Home Office Before Spring Whether you work at home full time or you keep a home office as a productive place to get things done on the weekends, the layout of your home office can contribute to your efficiency. If your home office is outdated, cluttered or uncomfortable, you can easily become distracted. To make the most of your home office situation, you need to keep it updated and homey. As your place to go to get work done, your home office should push you to be more efficient. If youâre ready to renovate your office, you want to ensure youâre going about it the right way. Because a home office renovation can be a major project, you want to get it right the first time. Here are seven tips for getting the home office of your dreams by spring. Create a Dream List Before you start doing any work on your home office renovations, develop a list of everything your dream office would have. While some of these goals may be far out of reach, planning exactly what youâre looking for before you begin your renovation can provide you with a clear direction to move toward. Write down each item you want your dream office to have. This may include things such as: A large desk A certain computer or laptop A color scheme Organizational details Select pictures of furniture, layouts or designs you enjoy. This will become your source of inspiration for designing. Develop a Budget Once you have a better idea of what you want in your office, itâs time to consider how those things fit in with your finances. Chances are you canât afford everything on the dream list you created â" and thatâs okay. Your dream list wasnât meant to be your shopping list, only a source of inspiration. However, you do need to determine what you can afford and what youâre willing to pay for. Take a look at your dream list and choose a few items you canât go without, what items you already have, and what items can wait. Then create your budget with these items in mind. While this may mean pushing a few unnecessary purchases back until you have the money, spending only on what you truly want can save you in the end. Avoid Major Construction If youâre looking to have your office renovated by spring, you probably want to avoid tearing down walls or starting a major demolition project. While you may want to create an entirely new space eventually, youâll need months of planning to do so properly. Create your new office around the space you already have. If youâre looking for a change, paint the walls a new shade or swap out the flooring. Invest in the Right Furniture There are a few things you can save on when creating your home office, but your chair shouldnât be one. If you work primarily in your home office, youâre going to spend a lot of time in the chair you purchase. If it isnât comfortable, the right height or functional, youâll quickly grow sick of working in your new space. Find a chair and desk duo you love and youâre excited to work at, even if it costs a little more than you expected. Spending the money now will prevent you from needing to buy a new desk or chair in a few months or years, and can save you a major headache â" and backache â" in the future. Choose a Calming Color When choosing the color scheme for your new office, you may be tempted to select bright and exciting colors. While they may give you an initial energy boost when you walk in the room, they can actually become incredibly distracting throughout the day. While you donât necessarily need to paint your office something boring and bland, avoid colors that may interfere with your mood. For some, neon shades, red or other colors that strain the eye can prevent them from getting work done. Instead, select a color you truly love but that wonât take away from your work. Prioritize Organization In order to stay productive in your home office, you want to keep the clutter to a minimum. Keep in mind these organizational tips: Files and documents should be neatly stored away Supplies should have a clear place to go Your desk should be clear and clean when you sit down to do work Consider your organization needs now and in the future. The sooner you get your files and items organized, the easier it will be to keep a clean workspace. Be Patient and Prepared Even if youâre looking to complete your renovation before spring, know that you wonât be finished in just a few days. Creating the home office of your dreams can take time, so be patient and let it come together in its own time. To ensure the renovations are completed in full and on time, always have a back-up plan. Things can always go wrong, and problems can arise when you least expect them. If youâre properly prepared, you can navigate those issues before they throw your renovations off course. When renovating your home office, know what you want your end goal to look like. If you go into the renovations without a plan, you wonât be happy with the outcome. Create an image in your mind and do what you need to see it come to life. These seven tips can be a great place to start. . Images via pexels.com and pixabay.com.

Pick Up the Phone to Build Trust With Your Executive Network - Executive Career Brandâ¢
Pick Up the Phone to Build Trust With Your Executive Network I spoke to my friend and colleague Pete Kistler, CEO of Brand-yourself.com, for the first time last week, although I had been a guest blogger at the Brand-yourself blog for about a year, and then a weekly blog columnist since last December. Neither of us had ever picked up the phone to connect. Meeting in person would have been great, but not geographically feasible. Like many people these days, with networks spanning the country and even the world, we communicated solely through email and other social media. Dont get me wrong. I love the convenience and immediacy of email and Twitter, but I need more than virutal conversation. I know Im not alone in this feeling. People communicate best through face-to-face encounter, second best through verbal exchange. Social media talk ranks last, in my opinion. I need the shot of adrenaline I get from a spontaneous shared laugh that is lacking in an emailed or tweeted LOL. I need the nuance of verbally sharing in an associates excitement at reaching a milestone or celebrating a major accomplishment. I need to fully examining a topic by verbally batting ideas and solutions back and forth in conversation. Without that phone call with Pete, I wouldnt have grasped as easily what he and his accomplished team are offering with the launch of their new online reputation management platform, and how it can help me. I believe that, without hashing out details in conversation, Pete wouldnt have benefitted as much from my expertise and how my experience helping executives with their online identity can help him. We both came to understand how we can bring value to each other, in a variety of ways. I doubt we would have gotten there through emails alone. Note to self: Improve my ever-expanding personal brand communications plan by better balancing virtual with real-life networking. I WILL regularly checking in with my network by phone. Social networks are great, but they dont reinforce personal brands or build trust like reaching out and calling someone. Related post: How to Build a Powerful Executive Network 00 0

Résumés Are Not Obituaries - Pathfinder Careers
Résumés Are Not Obituaries - Pathfinder Careers Résumés Are Not Obituaries One of the most common mistakes I see in résumés is that the person has provided essentially a laundry list of what they did in a job. Boooorrrrring!! This might be suitable for European-style curriculum vitae and highly technical résumés which thrive on miniscule details, but American-style résumés have turned the corner from the mundane daily job tasks. They have become a valuable tool and key place to illustrate value to a prospective employer. If there was ever a time for proverbial chest-thumping, this would be it. You HAVE to toot your horn, as you are the only person who is the 100% devoted advocate for yourself. No one else is ever going to do this for you, and you canât assume that an interviewer is going to know all fabulous things that youâve done unless you tell them! How to put this into writing? Think ACTION (what did I do) and RESULT (how did it impact the employerâs bottom line or corporate objectives). Hereâs an example: BEFORE: ⢠Assist with multi-state payroll processing bi-weekly ⢠Update employee changes for 15 company codes using ADP ⢠Prepare payroll reports for services auditors bi-weekly ⢠Assist human resources with open enrollment selection AFTER: Managed all aspects of payroll cycles, delivering accurate and timely payroll management for 150-900+ employees in a variety of corporate settings, including input of payroll data, human resources and benefit information, garnishments, expense reports, 401k elections, life/medical/flexible spending, direct deposits, employee bond purchases and workers compensation reporting. Within first week of employment, identified and corrected employee healthcare payments to pre-tax (instead of after-tax) deductions. One of the things that came out of the client interview in this case were some of the actionable items that the person did. With the rephrasing, we created a better picture of what they did in terms of delivering a significant impact to the company. See your résumé as a critical tool as to how employers perceive your value. They want to know what you did in your previous job and how you helped a previous companyâs bottom line as a way to evaluate what you might be able to do for them. By showcasing what you accomplished in an action-and-result format, you are creating a dynamic document rather than creating a static recitation of what your job entailed. Dont let your old résumé become your obituary!

How To Dress For That Job Interview
How To Dress For That Job Interview When you sit down for that job interview, the last thing you want to be worried about is what you are wearing. That choice should have been made a few days beforehand, if possible, to give you time to put together an interview outfit that gives confidence. The idea that you must dress for success never goes out of style because people see your clothing as part of your initial impression. Here are a few tips to work on now, so you will be ready to go the morning of your all-important interview: Plan one or two interview outfits and keep them ready to wear (cmon ladies, we have at least that many outfits ready for a night out!) That means they are clean, mended, and fit comfortably. Get dressed in the entire outfit and have a friend take your picture from the back, side and front. Look at those photos and decide what needs to change. (You cant change your body in two days, but you can pick a better shirt or shoes.) Do your research and know what is appropriate for this interview. Go conservative if you have doubts. Figure out the entire outfit, from shoes, socks and underwear to tie and jewelry. Have it all laid out the night before so you know its ready. Have a backup in case you spill something on yourself. Its been done! Shine your shoes, give yourself a manicure (and pedicure if youre wearing peep-toe shoes) and plan your grooming schedule. This is not the place for that just-stepped-out-of-the-shower-wet look. When you have planned your outfit and know you look your best, you have confidence. Preparing ahead of time helps you focus on the interview instead of that button that popped off your shirt before you left home. Part of your job search includes dressing for success, so get ready to shine!
